Sid Ahmed Serri
Born in 1926 in Algiers, Sid Ahmed Serri singer, teacher and conductor, is considered nowadays as the guardian of authentic Andalusian music. During the first national seminar on Algerian classical music that took place in Chenoua, Tipasa and ended on April 2006, participants came with an agreement on creating the National Federation of Algerian Classical Music presided by Cheikh Sid Ahmed Serri.
Photos taken by Abdelkhalek LABBIZE at the held of the first national seminar of the Algerian classical music at Chenoua (Tipaza) were studies led to the creation of the National Federation of the Algerian Classical music which Sheik Sid-Ahmed Serri chairs.
Since 1973 and in spite of his age, Sid Ahmed Serri, accompanied by Nefil Abdelwahab, president of association El Fekhardjia of Algiers and their companions did not cease promoting the Andalousian musical heritage and for its safeguard and saw their "dreams finally" being concretized by the creation of the National Federation of the Algerian Classical musi.
